에뛰드하우스 소녀 애교살 메이커 리뷰 Etude House Dear Girls Cute Eyes Maker Review~❤

안녕~
Hihi everyone~ This review is on the Etude House Dear Girls Cute Eyes Maker - Also known as Girl Aegyosal Maker.

Some of you may think - 'cute eyes? what? is it mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow or. . .'

It's to create Aegyosal!~

For those completely new to this Korean beauty trend, let me break down the term for it! It's called Aegyosal 애교살
Aegyo 애교 - Means lovely, charming, cute etc
Sal 살 - Flesh, fat etc.
So aegyosal means Charming Fat, Lovely Skin & there are other terms for it too like Love Bands.
Aegyosal are the little pocket of fat under your eyes & in Korea, they are supposed to make you look younger & innocently cute. (○´∀`○)
Many of your favourite idols have them!
Like SNSD Yoona & SHINee's Jonghyun:-

Note that aegyosals are NOT dark circles. I made this image (sorry Ice-Princess!) below to show you:-
Some people have them naturally - I have one big aegyosal on my left eye, I have one on
my right too, but its not so big as I have different eye shapes ㅠㅠ Some people go for surgery to get them or enlarge them!
But lets go for a cheaper & painless option right?  The Etude House Dear Girls Cute Eyes Maker!

Oh! Let me tell you something - My Dad can't pronounce aegyosals & whenever I mention them, he says 'egg sacks. . .' to tease me -ㅅ-

Packaging
It looks like a double ended marker (´・ω・`) It's very cute! Really, really cute & lovely pink colour~
It's 14cm & can fit in my pencil case ㅋㅋㅋ
I love the little doodles of flowers, hearts & the little pearl necklace~ (○´∀`○)
(ノ*^▽^)ノ Girly, simple yet adorable~
Manufacturing Date~
The arrows indicate which end to use first~
It's a twist off lid & has a spring inside. When you twist off the lid, it pops up!
I screamed when I twist the lid off too fast & lid popped off XD I thought I'd broken it ㅠㅠ

Eyeshadows are one of the ways to creating or enhance aegyosals! The eyeshadows are inside the lid:-

Step 1
Step 1 is to make the shadow line under the aegyosal to make it stand out.

Step 2
Step 2 is to highlight the aegyosal to make the eyes have the illusion of puffy aegyosal sals that make your eyes look brighter & bigger.

The shadows are collected on a very soft, spongy tip that is not rough/uncomfortable on the skin~
Because its velvetly soft, it will not drag on your eyes~
The sponge tip are very handy for step 2 but for step 1. . . It's a tad too big!
It's okay for me since I have aegyosals but someone wanting to create a illusion of aegyosals. . . may create the illusion of dark circles ㅠㅠ You'd have to use the very tip of Step 1 to get a thin line!

Swatches

Step 1 is a matte brown shade~ It's quite sheer which may require build up depending on your skin tone. It's quite creamy & very easy to draw on & blend out.
Step 2 is a shimmery pink-beige shade~ It's equally creamy & easy to blend out.

It's also a good thing that they are sheer because if you make a mistake, it's barely noticeable~

To apply these shades, they feel quite refreshing? It might be the Shea Butter & they are quite moisturising!~

Scent
No scent~(ノ*^▽^)ノ

My Aegyosals BEFORE
You can see the slight shadow/crease line of my aegyosal~
This is my left eye - The biggest aegyosal~
I used to hate them a couple years ago but now I love them!~ They suit my makeup so much & make my eyes look bigger~
I like to enhance them with shimmer shadow or tear liner~❤

Directions
1. Make shading line as you draw a line 3-5mm under the eyes using the tip of Step 1
2. Fill up between eyes & shading line using wide part of tip of Step 2 to complete
charming eyes.

Here I edited a highlight line to show where I use Step 1:-
Step 1
Here you can see the slight brown shadow line I made in the crease below my aegyosal~
It was slightly too dark but I easily smudged out the harshness~ The colour of Step 1 really does depend on your skin tone.

It easily enhanced the crease really well & applied very quickly & smoothly without pulling on my eyes~ ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Step 2
I applied the shimmery beige of Step 2 between the eye & shadow line I drew. Step 2 really is the cherry-on-top & makes my aegyosals look plumper, bigger & brighter!~  (´∀`)
It applies really heavy with shimmer so I had to smudge it out slightly to make it wearable for everyday look.
It does apply very smoothly though!~ ^-^
Both shadows are very creamy, refreshing & moisturising - Which I am grateful for as my eye area is dry!
BUT Step 2 - The beige shimmer one - creases a lot especially if you wear moisturising makeup base! <丶´Д`>
Best to apply a tad amount of powder to your eyes to set any base makeup! Especially if your skin is oily~
It does not bother me too much but I like my eye makeup really clear (´・ω・`)

Sorry for the quality. It was getting dark quite early so the ISO went crazy ㅠㅠ
You can see that with the Cute Eyes Maker, my eyes look rounder & bigger!~ Also a lot brighter despite the stupid ISO quality ㅎㅎㅎ

It really compliments my skin tone~

Overall
I quite like this product!~
It's quite handy for on-to-go, quick makeup. Before I got this product, I had to use a angle brush, matte brown eyeshadow & shimmery shadow. Now I don't have to bother with brushes & finding the right eyeshadow! I have all I need in a little cute pen-like form!~ (○´∀`○)
The sponge applicators may need to be practiced with because they are quite big.
You have to use the very tip of Step 1 because using the whole end of the tip can make the brown shadow line too big & therefore, you gain the illusion of dark circles rather than aegyosal ㅠㅠ

The eyeshadows are pretty shades that compliment one-another! They are easy to use & apply very well without pulling on the eye area~
The formulas are very creamy, moisturising & smudge out very well. However, Step 2 creases a lot due to how creamy it is. No matter, a little bit of powder setting & it's fine.
Both of the shades really work well to enhance or create illusions of aegyosal! ^▽^ You can use it as dramatically or as naturally as you want. The effect makes your eyes look bigger & brighter~ I find the effect lasts quite a while despite the creasing of Step 2 - 5hrs+ for me! May differ on oily lids.
The eyeshadow ingredients do not irritate my eye area~ ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ

You could even use the Cute Eyes Maker for  contouring & highlighting rather than on the eyes~
Overall, this is a sweet, lovely product to use & I'm very happy I purchased it!~

Pros
Reasonable price on KPOPTOWN
Cute, adorable light-weight, travel-friendly packaging
Packaging is convenient - It has both shades you need & applicators.
Applicators are gentle & soft on eyes
Eyeshadows are sheer & compliment eachother.
Creamy formula make it easy to apply to eyes without pulling the skin.
Moisturising & refreshing
Does not irritate my eyes - No Scent too
Creates bigger, bright enhancement/illusion of aegyosals.
Fits my skin tone
The eyeshadows can be used for contouring, highlighting & upper lid shadow (Multi-Use!)
Long Lasting (5hrs+ for me)

Cons
The Applicator Tip are quite big especially when using Step 1 - I would like it to be smaller~
Step 2 creases on moisturising makeup & maybe oily lids - Recommend set with powder/oil pact
Step 2 shimmers are quite dramatic & leaves some glitters on the face - may need to be smudged out
Very sheer colours - May not show on darker skin tones
Hard to find in the UK

  3. Thank you for the review! :) First of all, your dad is so supportive of you using make up. That's really sweet and cute haha! ^^ I find the sponge tip to be a tad on a wide side as well, so I'm not sure if I would want to purchase this. :( But the substitute product of Holika Holika might be something more for my eyes. Thank you for recommending!
