에뛰드하우스 수분가득 슈퍼 콜라겐 아이컨센트레이트 Etude House Moistfull Super Collagen Eye Concentrate Review~❤

안녕~

Hello everyone~! Today I have a skincare review for you all - This is my first eye care product review on this blog.

Many people do not use eye care in their daily routines because they feel they do not need it! Eye products are optional in a skincare routine & sometimes not necessary if you use a good moisturiser - It depends on you & your skin! (○´∀`○)

Some people do not use eye care products because sometimes the products never seem to do a thing to the eyes. There is always that hunt for the perfect holy-grail eye cream - One that reduces dark circles, gets rid of wrinkles ''permanently' etc etc.

Since learning about the skin in my beauty therapy classes, I feel the main thing our eye area needs is moisture!
The skin around the eyes is much thinner than say, our cheeks! Because the skin is so thin & delicate, it's one of first areas that start to show aging. If the skin is dry & treated rough (like rubbing the skin hard), it can cause the skin to be tight, sensitive & could cause premature fine lines & wrinkles.

So by moisturising the eyes, we can help keep the skin firm & hydrated to ease & smooth the formation of wrinkles~
● ● ●
Side note story time~! You can skip if you'd like ^-^
In the photo I have these fine lines right under my lashes. These are one of my insecurities.

I first noticed these lines when I was about 14 & I got really upset because I thought I was prematurely aging! I used my mums expensive anti-wrinkling eye cream/face creams, natural ingredients like cucumbers & this cheap weird 'collagen filler' gel (which irritated my eyes to hell & back) & they did not even fade. I got so upset & I wasn't keen that you guys can see them in my tutorials щ(ಥДಥщ)
My parents told me they were not wrinkles at all but I did not believe them until I looked at my childhood photos last year:-
Can you see the fine lines under my eyes? I was about 6-7 years old in this photo. Imagine my frenzy going through all these different eye products to remove something I was born with. I feel so embarrassed haha <丶´Д`> I'm learning to accept them~~

My eye area is one of the dry areas on my face next to my forehead & cheeks. I find just using my everyday moisturiser (for combination-dry skin) is not enough for my poor eyes. I like to use a eye cream to hydrate & nourish the skin~

I'm reviewing this eye cream from Etude House. This product claims to be a anti-wrinkle moisture cream. I did not buy this cream for the anti-wrinkle properties but for its rich moisturising properties. It's not a holy-grail but is still one of my favourites

Original Etude House Price:- 17,000원
Cosmetic.Love Price:- £9.00 If I remember correctly.
I cannot find the 'Eye concentrate' on Cosmetic.Love now, but there is the Collagen Eye Cream for £11.40 - Which I believe is the same cream but a new upgrade formula.

£9.00 is rather reasonable for the amount of product you receive in the jar - 25ml. You only need a tiny amount of the cream for the eyes so it will last awhile. £9-11 is certainly a lot cheaper than some eye products!

Enhanced wrinkle-functioning cosmetic.
'Intensive skin cream to help improve fine lines & skin elasticity around the eyes & eyelid area.'

Marin collagen, a fibrous protein extracted from the scales or skin of saltwater fish, is contained to provide abundant moisture & elasticity on skin. The collagen used in the cream is sourced from the Western Central Pacific waters.

The cream also contains Adansonia digitata extract - Baobab!
The Baobab tree (known as the Tree of Life) can max 120,000 liters of moisture which is 79% of its whole body which help overcome drought in the Africa~!
A baobab tree has a lifespan of 1,000 years and is known as a symbol of life and positivity.
This extract is certified to keep skin moist for 24hours!

I love the Collagen range packaging~! Such a refreshing orange colour & simple sweet design~
It makes me all nostalgic from when I tried my first products from this Collagen line. Sniffle( ´∀`) See my 2013 review on the old collagen cream & essence HERE

Back of jar. Korean product description.
The frosted effect on the jar is so pretty~ The jar is little, I can almost wrap my hand around it! The jar is made of glass but is surprisingly quite light. I personally would not travel with this because I'm accident prone. I'd more than likely drop it! I'd fill a sample pot instead (=ω=;) Haha~

The pot originally came filled up with product, with a protective seal & with a tiny spatula~
I'm glad it came with a spatula because I dislike dipping my fingers (+ nails!!) in the pot. It's not very hygienic.
I've been using this cream for a a good few months; everyday. Twice a day - Since February!
So this tiny jar lasts a long while

The eye cream is thick cream that is milky white in colour. It reminds me of jelly because of how bouncy & dense it looks!
The hydrolysed collagen is what gives it it's bouncy texture~ boing boing
To swatch out the cream feels really refreshing - It has an immediate cooling effect to apply on the skin ( ´∀`)
The texture is really surprisingly to blend out! The cream is rich & thick when swatched, but once blended it turns almost like a creamy lightweight lotion that is very easy to blend~!
The cream can take awhile to absorb into the skin but once it does, the skin is left feeling very hydrated & smooth with a moistfull glow.
The skin is not left feeling greasy but the cream can leave a veeeery slight tacky-sticky residue. It's not sticky to the point your hair will stick to it. It's very benign & the residue will eventually go after about 10 minutes~ ^▽^
I know many people really dislike stick products. So, to test the how sticky the residue is, I did the oil blotting test. I applied the eye cream on my hand & blended until it was absorbed into the skin, then I applied the blotting papers.
As I mentioned above, the residue is barely noticeable - Only 2 of the 11 blotting squares stayed on my hand!( ´∀`)☆
The cream has a lovely subtle floral-citrusy scent The scent is so light that I can only really smell it if I go really close to the jar~ (´ㅂ`) This product does contain fragrance so sensitive skins, be aware~!

The scent dissipates once applied to the skin.

Here is my eye area right after cleansing my skin. I haven't not applied any products to my skin ^^~ You can see all those fine lines I mentioned above ヽ(o`皿′o)ノ Since I've had these lines since I was little, I know that eye cream will not magically 'get rid' of them.

I have not seen anything creep up on my skin that could be aging lines just yet - Thank goodness & touch wood - Skin be nice to me in the future okay? I'm only 19 okay? ( ´Д` )ノ

The skin around my eye area can feel a bit dry so that's why I like to use eye cream to give the area some loooove~
Dispense a certain amount before applying cream & apply thoroughly onto 360° of the eye area, spreading gently & lightly dabbing to absorb.

These review photos are from a while ago, I do not dot so much cream on like this anymore. A rice grain amount of this cream is enough to cover & treat the eyes effectively. A small amount goes a long way.

I always make sure the whole of the 360°of the eyes are covered. To ease the formation of future wrinkles, I also apply the cream on the brow bow, the 'crows feet' eye corner & lid to lift & firm the skin.
I use my ring finger (the weakest finger) to pat the cream into the skin. I also like to do a very light circular massage around my orbital bone (eye socket) to soothe & firm the area. Both the patting & massage will allow quicker absorption.

The cream glides so smoothly across the skin despite it's being a rich cream~ It provides a perfect refreshing 'slip' for a eye massage~ (´ω`)

I like to apply this eye cream after my moisturiser, because this cream is slightly lighter than my daily moisturiser. I'd rather my moisturiser absorb first & then the eye cream.
It's just the way I prefer it, I do not think there is a specific way to apply eye cream. Before/after moisturiser, I think it just depends. As long as the cream absorbs, I do not think it matters~ ^▽^

After apply the cream, the eye area immediately looks & feels so hydrated~ The eye cream provides a really good amount of moisture that really soothes & smooths the skin & it's texture!
The cooling effect the cream gives is so nice, I always fan my hands over my face to feel more cool-ness haha (。’▽’。)

After I applied the cream, my eye area feels more elastic & bouncy~! & I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think the collagen help fill in the lines under my eyes:-
If so, it is only a temporary effect~

Absorbed
It takes awhile to the cream to fully, fully absorb along with that sticky residue (about 10mins). But here are the eyes after the cream has absorbed. The skin appears 'matte' again but to touch, my skin still feels moisturised~

In the mornings, I like to cleanse my skin, exfoliate, tone, moisturise, apply this eye cream, SPF** & then my base makeup~ I always make sure I leave 10 minutes between my skincare to apply my makeup. This way the eye cream can set & my base/eye makeup will not be disturbed.

**This eye cream does not contain SPF
The moisture the eye cream gives lasts a pretty long time but differs depending whether or not I wear makeup.
I applied the cream at 6am without wearing makeup & by 12pm my eye area still felt hydrated & plump.
I applied the cream followed by makeup at 6am - By 12pm my eyes felt 'normal' again but my makeup did not look dry & worn out, thanks to the creams moisturising/smoothing properties.

When I apply the cream at night, my eye area feels moisturised right through until next morning when I wake up~!

So yes, this eye cream has a long lasting effects up to 6+ or more~ Especially without wearing makeup!

I love this eye cream~ I've been using everyday for a couple of months & my dry eye area has improved a lot!
My eye area feels much more refreshed & hydrated. My eyes feel soft, plump & firm & the cream reduces any puffiness I may have.
The cream does not brighten up my dark circles but the cream does not claim to help with that - So I do not mind. I just need to sleep better huuee( ;´3`)zzz~

Formula
The cream fully moisturises my dry skin & it does not trigger any oily areas of my face despite being so rich & moist. My skin is combination- but a bit more drier & I have no trouble using this cream.

I love the texture of the cream It's rich yet lightweight & does not feel heavy or too sticky to apply under the eyes. It applies smoothly & soothes my tired eyes so it feels like a relaxing treat after a long day.

●  The the cream appears to 'fill' in lines under the eyes, my eye makeup always looks fresh with this cream under~! but it's just a temporary effect but it does not make my lines any worse.
I'm not sure how this cream will help with wrinkles/mature skin but I believe applying this eye cream can help with future wrinkles because of its moisturising & beneficial ingredients properties.

 Recommend
I'd recommend this product all skin types & all ages.
~ ~ ~
Overall, I really love this eye cream It is by far one of the most nourishing creams I've used under my eyes (& as you know from my little story above, there was a lot I tried haha). It's not a holy grail - I just love it for it's moisture - It's my go-to skin pick me up for my eyes.
Pros
Reasonable price
Pretty packaging
Comes with spatula -
hygiene friendly
Good amount of product. You only need a tiny amount.
Subtle lovely floral scent

Lightweight yet rich texture - Very easy to apply. Not too sticky nor greasy.
Very hydrating. Smooths/soothes & plumps the skin.
Can help combat future fine lines/wrinkles.
Does not trigger oily areas nor break me out.
Long-Lasting moisture

Cons

Not really travel friendly - Glass jar.
Contains no SPF
Does not help with dark circles.
Only temporarily fills in fine lines but again, it may help combat future lines ^^~
Can take a while too fully absorb -There is a very slight sticky residue
Some ingredients might potentially trigger sensitive skins/acne skins.

Not available in UK - Only online.

Repurchase?
Possibly. I do like it but like all skincare, there are many others to try out~

I hope you all enjoyed this review~ I really enjoyed creating it even though I feel I repeated myself a lot щ(ಥДಥщ)  Did you all have a lovely Halloween? I did!!
We did a few things we never have done before!
We bought our first pumpykins & made a awful slimey mess in our kitchen - Note to self, use a groundsheet ( ;´Д`)
Baking ammunition!~ Remember I told you all we were going to attempt making a sweet pumpkin pie?
We made a successful one~! A tad too golden-brown but my family said it tasted reaaaally yummy~
We also carved the pumpkins~ Mine & Daddys is the happy one in the middle~! (´ ▽ ` )ノ Lewis's is the right one & my Mum & Nanny's is the little cutie on the far left!

It was sooooo much fun doing things as a family. I really missed doing things like this. This week we baked together more. We made a beef & vegetable pie & gingerbread cookies~

I hope you all have a lovely weekend~!

Lots of Love

  1. OMG thanks for this review!

Ever since some years back I've been really insecure about the fine lines under my eyes, Whatever I do to hide them with make-up it feels like it doesn't work shit and yeah, it makes me feel so ugly lol. I'm angry/disappointed with myself because, honestly, all my life I ~never~ used a single moisturizer or skin care product and now it feels like this is the toll it took on me. :( As a guy I just didn't think that it was important or that those products actually did anything; I always just thought that it was a waste of money...
Now lately I've been trying to figure out what I can do to possibly make those lines go away (if it's even possible) or at least lessen future ones. But every time I start to search I just feel sooooo overwhelmed and I give up instantly because I have no clue what products are actually good and/or work and yeah, I just don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for. I don't even know what my skin type is! D:

So yeah, I just feel like I desperately need to start taking care of my skin, especially the face. I feel like I'm way too young to have this noticeable wrinkles under the eyes and it bothers me to no end and I feel bad about my earlier ignorance/lack-of-care. I'm pretty sure I didn't always have those damn lines, ugh... *sigh* I do know though that I've had dark circles for most of my life, but those don't bother me as much because they're easier to hide.

Uuhh.. sorry about the text wall. OTL I'm not even sure if I make sense with all these ramblings. I just really want to fix especially my eye area before it gets even worse; it's a huge insecurity for me, especially when I cosplay etc.
I'm thinking about testing this product you reviewed, it sounds promising and like something that I'd like. Thanks a lot for the review. ♡

  2. Wow nice review! I also have problems with fine lines and dark under eye circles, and I am actually looking for an eye cream for my dark eyebags. But this cream sounds good since the moisturizer from this skincare line has been loved by many people~
